Established on September 15, 1996 by Elder Stephen Akande and his wife, Deaconess Mary Akande, Messiah School was built on a lifetime of service to education — offering children in our community a solid academic foundation, discipline, and moral guidance.

Messiah School was founded on September 15, 1996, by Elder Stephen Akande and his wife, Deaconess Mary Akande, with a vision to provide quality education, discipline, and strong moral guidance to children in the community.

The school was established at a time when Elder Stephen Akande was preparing for retirement after many years of dedicated service in the education sector. His passion for teaching, school leadership, and child development inspired him to create a learning environment where children could receive a solid academic foundation and be prepared for the future.

Today, Messiah School continues to build on the vision of its founders by providing a caring, structured, and supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and develop academically, socially, and morally.

Elder Stephen Akande

Elder Stephen Akande began his teaching career in the 1970s at a modern school in Ijare, Ondo State. He later served as an Economics teacher and Vice Principal at Omoluorgbo High School, Akure, before being transferred to Ore as Vice Principal.

He eventually became Principal of Akintola Comprehensive High School, Odigbo, and retired from public service in the year 2000.

He attended Victory College, Ikare, and later graduated from the University of Ibadan. His many years of experience as a teacher, administrator, vice principal, and principal helped shape the foundation and values of Messiah School.

Deaconess Mary Akande

Deaconess Mary Akande began her career at the Ministry of Finance on December 17, 1976, as a secretary. She was later posted to the Ondo State Board of Internal Revenue when it was created.

While building her own career in public service, she continued to support her husband's dream of school ownership.

She retired from the Board of Internal Revenue in December 2012 and became more actively involved in supporting the school's growth and daily life.
